The main ECMM2024 conference will be preceded by a Young ECMM2024 (yECMM) pre-conference which will be organized from July 14 (Sunday), 2024 to July 15, 2024 (Monday) in Kraków, in the same conference venue as the subsequent main event, by the same organizing committee (see the related pages of the main ECMM2024 event for details).
This pre-conference aims to provide the opportunity for the youngest researchers, including PhD students and post-docs up to 2 years after graduation (i.e., no earlier than July 2022) to present their results in the form of oral communications which will accompany the poster presentation during the main ECMM conference. Besides 36 15-minute slots for such yECMM contributed talks, the program of a Young ECMM2024 pre-conference will also include 3 invited talks of leading scientists of the molecular magnetism field. This will include the lecture of Prof. Eugenio Coronado (Universitat de València, València, Spain) on new challenges for molecular magnetism community and two lectures on the personal scientific success story given by Prof. Nicholas Chilton (University of Manchester, Manchester, United Kingdom and Australian National University, Canberra, Australia) and Prof. Rodolphe Clérac (Université de Bordeaux, CNRS, Bordeaux, France).
Other important information:
The yECMM contributed talks will last 15 minutes including 3 minutes of discussion. Due to the subsequent start of the main ECMM2024 event, the schedule is planned to be strictly followed. The participants of yECMM giving the contributed talks have to also present the poster presentation on the same topic during the main conference. Therefore, the abstract submission for the Young ECMM2024 is combined with the abstract submission for the main event with identical rules and deadlines as given in the details of the main ECMM2024 conference (see the proper page of this website).
Registration and payments for yECMM are realized together with the procedure for the main ECMM2024 event. IMPORTANT: The registration fee for the main event covers participation in the yECMM pre-conference, i.e., there is no additional cost for participation in the pre-conference. The only duty to become a participant in the pre-conference is to select the proper option during the registration for the main ECMM2024 conference. The conference venue will be identical to the main ECMM2024 event; however, a smaller seminar room can be used which will be selected by the organizing committee depending on the number of registered participants for yECMM. The participants will be informed of this issue before the start of yECMM. The sets of information regarding travel and accommodation are identical as described for the main ECMM2024 conference. Concerning accommodation, please be particularly aware of a low-cost hostel option offered at the Campanile Kraków South Hotel (see the Accommodation page of the main ECMM2024 event for details). The refreshments and drinks for coffee breaks will be provided by the organizers while during Lunch time the participants of yECMM will have free time to take lunch in the Faculty’s cafeteria or neighboring restaurants.
